Mohammad Ali Fardin Sr.

About

Iranian actor, film director, and professional wrestler. He is best recognized for his performance in the 1968 film Solatan-e Ghalb-ha which earned him the nickname King of Hearts. He is also known for his wrestling and won the silver medal at the 1954 World Wrestling Championships. 

Before Fame

After finishing high school, he joined the Air Force and later became a professional freestyle wrestler in his twenties. He started acting 

Trivia

While Iran had banned most of his films after the 1979 revolution, 20,000 people showed up to his funeral in Tehran in April of 2000. 

Family Life

He was born and raised in Tehran and was the oldest of three children. He married Mehri Khomaarloo and together they had four children.

He starred alongside Waheeda Rehman and Sanjeev Kumar in the 1972 feature film Subah-O-Shaam.
