Before Fame

He studied theatre at Los Angeles' Antioch College.

He composed music for two 1979 episodes of the popular television series, Lou Grant.

Family Life

His cousin, Johnny Mandel, himself a film and television composer, encouraged Goodman to pursue a career in music.
