Mikko Nissinen

About

Dancer known for his performances with the San Francisco Ballet and the Dutch National Ballet. Beginning in the early 2000s, he also served as Artistic Director of the Boston Ballet.

Before Fame

As a child, he trained at both the Finnish National Ballet School and the Kirov Ballet School.

Trivia

Immediately after retiring from dance, he became the Artistic Director of the Alberta Ballet and the Marin Ballet.

Family Life

He grew up in Finland and later lived and danced in the Netherlands, Canada, and the United States.

Associated With

He and Russian ballerina Maria Kochetkova were both principal dancers with the San Francisco Ballet.
