Mike Rivkees

About

Punk singer and songwriter who came on as the new frontman of Celtic ska-punk band The Rumjacks beginning in 2020. Shortly after his induction, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the group produced their 2021 album titled "Hestia" before going on to also release an EP called "Brass for Gold" in February of the following year. In addition to his musical exploits, he has also enjoyed a successful career in commercial, documentary, and even music video filmmaking. He has captured advertisements for Wayfair and other market-leading brands and traveled around the world to shoot documentaries such as Siempre Juntos, and Devil's Last Stand. 

Before Fame

In 2012, he graduated from the University of Hartford with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He went on to continue his psychology studies at Macquarie University in Australia. He briefly worked in insurance after completing his degree before earning positions as an editor with Long Haul Films and premier home décor outlet Wayfair. He founded Mike Rivkees Media in July of 2014.

Trivia

Prior to joining The Rumjacks in 2020 as a replacement for the group's former lead singer Frankie McLaughlin, he had provided lead vocals for the Boston Celtic Punk band Mickey Rickshaw. In February 2022, he and the rest of The Rumjacks joined The Bombpops and The Dropkick Murphys to embark on their 22-city "St. Patrick's Day Tour" across the United States. 

Family Life

In May 2024, he posted a series of photos on his mikerivkees Instagram account along with a loving tribute to his girlfriend Alex for their anniversary.

Associated With

Beginning in February of 2022, he began taking over for fellow punk singer, Al Barr, who was forced to resign from his duties as frontman of The Dropkick Murphys in order to care for his mother who was suffering from health complications at the time.
