Before Fame

He graduated from Baku Sate University in 1931 with a degree in literature.

Trivia

He was executed in 1939 during the Stalinist purges of the era. He was posthumously exonerated and has since become one of Azerbaijan's most popular poets.

Family Life

He was raised by his mother and father in the city of Baku.

He and Rasul Rza were founders of an Azerbaijani- Soviet poetry style that debuted in the 1930s.
