Before Fame

He relocated to New York in 1990, following graduation from the California Institute of the Arts. He joined the M-Base collective of musicians in Brooklyn.

Trivia

He began teaching and leading ensembles at Brandon, Manitoba's Brandon University in 2008.

Family Life

His family recognized his skills early on when he began dabbling in piano playing at the age of four, almost immediately composing and improvising.
