Mauricio Mesones

Peruvian singer who is a former member of the band Barreto. In July 2021, he released his debut solo album titled Viaje Tropical. He is known for songs like "La Cumbia del Amor" and "Cuando Callas." Much of his discography can be characterized by the music genre cumbia. He has a popular Instagram account mauriciomesones, which has garnered over 220,000 followers. On his Instagram, he has posted numerous clips of his live performances. 

Before Fame

He attended the Colegio Mixto San Antonio de Padua. He subsequently studied hotel management at the Centro de Formación en Turismo. In 2007, he joined the group Barreto. In 2019, he left the band in order to pursue his solo career. 

Trivia

He is a multi-instrumentalist and can play the guitar and the panpipes. He has been a professor at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas.
