Second born son and child of international soccer superstar Lionel Messi and Antonella Roccuzzo. He began playing soccer himself at a young age and there were viral videos of him dribbling around defenders by the time he was 7 years old.

Lionel's brother Matias broke the news of the arrival of Mateo via Twitter. His mother shared a photo of him gripping her finger via Instagram the day after his birth.
