Before Fame

He started his trumpet studies at Sweelinck Conservatorium and went on to learn with Pierre Thibaud and with Markus Stockhausen.

Trivia

He can play more than ten different trumpets and horns, including the Tibetan trumpet and the conch.

Family Life

He was born in Lichtenvoorde, Gelderland.

Associated With

He dedicated much of his life to the development of trumpet playing, much like avant-garde jazz trumpeter Wadada Smith.
