He was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1994, and the Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame in 2003.

Family Life

He married Debbie Meninga when he was 19, but they divorced; shortly after he remarried.

He began coaching at Queensland in 2006, and was highly praised by his captain, Darren Lockyer.
