Chinese-American chef and content creator who went viral for sharing his father's Cantonese recipes on his YouTube channel, Made With Lau. The channel has amassed over 1.6 million subscribers. In June 2024, his channel receive two James Beard Awards for Instructional Visual Media and Emerging Voice.

Before Fame

His dad, Chung Sun, was raised in Guangzhou, China before moving to New York City and later the Bay Area in 1981, where he opened a successful Chinese restaurant. He started his YouTube channel in September 2020 to share his dad's recipes.

Trivia

His YouTube videos feature his dad's renditions of popular Cantonese dishes, like Chinese BBQ pork, congee, chow mein, and many more. After gaining a big following rather quickly, CNN did a feature on his YouTube channel in May 2022. In 2024, he visited the White House. 

Family Life

His name is Randy Lau. He was raised alongside his sister Jennifer by his parents Chung Sun and Jenny in California. He met his now-wife, Kathlyn Hart Lau, in college at UCLA. They have three children.

He was welcomed to the White House by former president, Joe Biden, in 2024.
