Virtuoso who founded the Société des Instruments Anciens in the 1890s. He was known for his harpsichord recitals and prolific works as a composer.

He was a student at the Paris Conservatoire where he won premiers pix in counterpoint and fugue, harmony and accompaniment, piano, and solfège.

Trivia

His recordings on the gramophone were highly regarded. He was one of the first pianists to use the device.
