Lois Burwell

About

Academy award-winning makeup artist known for her long working relationship with acclaimed director Steven Spielberg. She has worked on classic films like The Princess Bride, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and The Muppet Christmas Carol. She also took away Oscar nods for her work on the Spielberg films Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan.

Before Fame

She began her professional career as a makeup artist in 1981 on the romantic comedy Gregory's Girl.

Trivia

Outside of her extensive and prestigious film work, she has also worked in the makeup department for the television shows Red Dwarf, Press Gang, and Jack the Ripper.

Family Life

She married cinematographer John Toll in 1998. They both won Oscars for their work on the 1995 film Braveheart.
