Liu Wei

About

Contemporary Chinese visual artist known for his works in a wide range of media: painting, drawing, video, photography, installation, and sculpture. His work has been exhibited in venues around the world, including the Pompidou Centre in France, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, and the International Center for Photography in New York City. He posts updates on his current projects on his liuweistudio Instagram page. 

Before Fame

He started his career as a member of the subversive art movement known as Post-Sense Sensibility.

Trivia

 Many of his sculptures and installations are assembled out of everyday found materials. He reworks discarded objects into complex works of art. He studied at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. 

Family Life

He was born and raised in Beijing, China. He has a son.
