Science historian known for her work in molecular biology. She wrote The Molecular Vision of Life in 1993, and Who Wrote the Book of Life? in 1999.

Before Fame

She earned a PhD from Johns Hopkins University in the history of science.

Trivia

She spent eight years working at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was awarded a Guggenheim fellowship in 1997.

Family Life

She grew up in Poland, the daughter of two holocaust survivors. Her family eventually moved to the United States in 1960.
