Leon Botha

South African DJ and visual artist best known for his work with the rap collective Die Antwoord. He suffered from the rare medical condition progeria, from which he died in June 2011.

Before Fame

At age 4 he was diagnosed with progeria, though he went on to become a successful painter who lived off commission from his works.

Trivia

His life inspired the play "Solarize", which debuted at the Polish National Opera in April 2014.

Family Life

He expressed gratitude towards his parents for raising him away from the harsh glare of the media.

Associated With

He and activist Sam Berns were both well-known sufferers of progeria.
