She attended a performing arts high school in Louisville called YPAS. She has a BFA from Millikin University in musical theater and an MFA from the University of Florida.

She received her union card from The Hippodrome State Theater in Gainesville, Florida.

She married Darrell C. Wilson, with whom she has three children.
