Author and businesswoman who became famous as a survivor of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. Her burns were catastrophic and covered 82.5 percent of her body. She spent over six months in the hospital. In 2011, she wrote a New York Times best-selling memoir called Unmeasured Strength.

She was a Wall Street executive and worked at Cantor Fitzgerald.

Trivia

On September 11, 2001, she arrived at 1 World Trade Center at 8:46 am. After American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the building, flames enveloped the lobby, igniting her back and arms. She fled and made it across the six lanes of West Street traffic to a grass embankment.

Family Life

Her son is named Tyler Manning. He was 10 months old the day of the attacks. She and her husband Greg had a second son named Jagger. Her father was a Marine.
