With a passion for acting at a young age, she majored in Drama at the University of Georgia. She then began acting professionally with her first credited role in the film Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland in 1989.

At the young age of 13, she became a professional dancer with her focus as a Clogger.

She was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a distant cousin of Noah Beery Jr. and Wallace Beery.
