Kim Soon-kwon

About

Scientist who created crops that were resistant to a destructive herb in Africa, which aided the economy of the peninsula. He has spent much of his career working as a professor at the Kyungpook National University.

Before Fame

After working as a teacher, he studied at the University of Hawaii.

Trivia

In 1998, he founded and became director of the International Foundation of the Corn.

Family Life

He was born on the southern coast of South Korea.

He travelled to North Korea to help their ailing crops under the reign of Kim Jong-Il.
