Kevin Rudd

About

26th Prime Minister of Australia from 2007 to 2010. He was also the Leader of the Labor Party from 2006 to 2010. He resigned in 2010 but was re-elected in 2013. He is the first serving Australian Prime Minister to publicly support same-sex marriage.

Before Fame

He grew up on a dairy farm and joined the Australian Labour Party at just age 15.

Trivia

Among his first actions as Prime Minister was to issue an official apology to Indigenous Australians for government's forced separation of indigenous families from 1909 to 1969.

Family Life

His father was a farmer who died when he was 11. He married Therese Rein in 1981 and the couple have three children together.
