Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor who released his own training videos and published several books on the martial art.

Before Fame

He was 19 when one of his friends announced he would start training in BJJ because it was a great workout; not wanting his friend to get the best of him, Howell signed up on the spot.

Trivia

He also earned an MA in political science and taught in college, but his biggest passion was writing books and making instructional BJJ videos.

Family Life

He was born in Huntington Beach, California.
