Keith Ellison

United States Representative from Minnesota and a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. He was the first Islamic member of Congress and the first African-American congressman from Minnesota.

Before Fame

After graduating from Wayne State University with a degree in economics, he earned a J.D. from the University of Minnesota's Law School.

Trivia

Raised in the Roman Catholic faith, he converted to Islam in his late teens.

Family Life

His more than two-decade marriage to Kim Ellison produced four children.
