Provided comic relief in her role as Harriet Oleson in the NBC drama Little House on the Prairie from 1974 to 1983 and later became a local theater actress. 

Before Fame

She played the part of a longshoreman's mother in the classic film On The Waterfront and also worked on and off Broadway during the 1950s.

Trivia

She was in a special episode of Family Feud which featured "Heroes vs. Villains."  

Family Life

She was married to her first husband Bert Remsen in 1949. She later remarried to Edward Kaye-Martin from 1969 until 1970.
