About

Known for such Arabic pop and classical songs as, respectively, "Obart Al Shat" and "La Ya Sadiki," this acclaimed vocalist and songwriter became one of the most respected musicians of his generation and in the history of Middle Eastern music. He has released over 20 albums throughout his long career. 

Before Fame

He wrote his first song when he was just ten years old and went on to attend the Baghdad Academy of Music in his early twenties.

Trivia

He performed his song "Tathakkar" before both the United States Congress and the United Nations and earned a UNICEF award. His song "Ha Habibi" has accumulated over 2 million streams on Spotify. 

Family Life

He and his siblings grew up in Baghdad as the children of a palace employee. He later fathered two children: Wissam and Omar.
