He was considered a three-star prospect while at D'Iberville High School. During his senior season, he led his team to a Mississippi state championship.

He recorded 7 interceptions during his four years at Minnesota. He caught his first career collegiate interception while playing against the University of Wisconsin.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Biloxi, Mississippi. His brother, Jaden, played college football at Mississippi State University.
