British actor known for his work in such acclaimed films as A Room with a View and The Killing Fields. He also played roles on television series such as Smallville and 24. He amassed over 150 acting credits throughout his long career.

Before Fame

He had one of his first roles in the 1984 film Oxford Blues.

Trivia

He was nominated for a 2013 Drama Desk Award. In 1991, he played Yves Cloquet in the movie Naked Lunch. In January 2023, he went missing on a hike in Los Angeles, California. His remains were officially found in June 2023.

Family Life

His two marriages, both to journalists, Sarah Harvey and Evgenia Citkowitz, produced a total of three children.
