Josh Rand

About

American guitarist, instrumentalist, musician, artist, entertainer, and performer who initially rose to fame for his work with rock band Stone Sour. He joined the band shortly before the recording of their self-titled debut album. 

Before Fame

He started playing the bass at the young age of nine. His early influences included Metallica's Cliff Burton and Anthrax's Frank Bello. He was inspired to switch to guitar after hearing Paul Gilbert's technically formidable playing in Racer X.

Trivia

He is a fan of the Atlanta Falcons. In the year 2022, he attended a Steve Vai concert. When Stone Sour went on hiatus in 2020, Rand teamed up with Paralandra vocalist Casandra Carson to form what's knowna s the LIFE Project. Their debut single was released in April of 2021. He is known for his bald head.

Family Life

His daughter Mia studied business at the University of Iowa.

He collaborated with Jesse Leach and Matt Heafy on the song "Blood & Flames," which was featured on Roadrunner United: The All-Star Sessions.
