José Gregorio Castillo

Left-handed reliever that was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as an international prospect in 2012. He was later acquired by the San Diego Padres via trade in December 2014. He has also pitched for Team Venezuela during the 2017 World Baseball Classic. 

Before Fame

Initially, he began his professional career playing for the VSL Rays. He was later promoted to the GCL Rays.

Trivia

He made his official major league debut pitching against the Cincinnati Reds on June 2, 2018 as a member of the Padres. He pitched one inning and collected three strikeouts.

He grew up living with his family in Valencia, Venezuela.
