He was selected to the 1995 World Cup team despite almost no international competition experience, and scored seven tries in five matches.

Family Life

He was married to Tanya Rutter from 1996-2000 and Fiona Lomu from 2003-2008. He was married to Nadene Quirk at the time of his death and was survived by two young sons. He was born to Tongan immigrant parents.
