John Mariucci

Founding member of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame who helped the NHL spread in Minnesota and all over the United States.

Before Fame

He spent five season with the Chicago Black Hawks as a defenseman, and after his NHL career, he played in the American Hockey League and the United States Hockey League.

Trivia

After retiring from playing, he took over as coach of the University of Minnesota hockey team, where one of his first acts was passing over Canadian players in favor of homegrown U.S. talent.

He was born in Eveleth, Minnesota.
