John Hollander

About

New York-born poet who won a Bollingen Prize for a 1983 poetry collection entitled Powers of Thirteen. His numerous other literary works include Harp Lake, The Untuning of the Sky, and Tales Told of the Fathers.

Before Fame

He attended Columbia University. He published his debut poetry collection, A Crackling of Thorns, in 1958.

Trivia

He worked as an editorial assistant for The Partisan Review.

Family Life

He and first wife Anne Loesser had one daughter before divorcing in 1977. Hollander later married Natalie Charkow.
