Remembered for her voice acting work in the 1950s, '60s, '70s, and '80s, she is particularly famous for her contributions to The Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo, The Adventures of Spunky and Tadpole, and Pound Puppies.

Before Fame

In the late 1940s, at the start of her career, she lent her voice to the puppet-based series Time for Beany.

Family Life

The child of Adelaide Gardner and jazz pianist "Jumbo" Gardner, she spent her youth in Chicago, Illinois. She later married Edward Janis and settled in the Los Angeles, California area.
