Remembered for her supporting character roles in numerous feature films of the 1930s and 1940s, Ralph is particularly notable for her performances in the 1936 film Camille and the 1940 comedy The Bank Dick.

Before Fame

She began acting professionally at the age of sixteen and spent the early decades of her career as a performer in George M. Cohan-produced Broadway musicals. She made her screen debut in her late fifties and began her Hollywood career in earnest at the age of sixty-nine.

Her final film was the 1941 feature They Met in Bombay.

Family Life

She was born and raised in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Her marriage to minor screen actor Bill Patton lasted until her death in 1944.

She played the role of Nanine -- the maid to Greta Garbo's Character Marguerite Gautier -- in the 1930s movie Camille.
