About
Initially famous for his multi-Genie Award-nominated film Black List, Vallee went on to direct the Oscar-nominated movies The Young Victoria and Dallas Buyers Club. He directed the first season of the popular series Big Little Lies. Following that, he directed Amy Adams in the series Sharp Objects.
Before Fame
After taking film classes at both the Universite du Quebec and the College Ahuntsic, he wrote and directed award-winning short films titled Les Fleurs Magiques and Les Mots Magiques.
Trivia
His 2005 feature C.R.A.Z.Y. was one of the most critically acclaimed and financially successful films in Quebec's cinematic history. He suffered from a heart attack and passed away at the age of 58.

His marriage to Nadia Live resulted in children named Emile and Alex.
