James Westphal

About

Scientist and astronomer who helped design the Hubble Space telescope. He was also the Director of Caltech's Palomar Observatory from 1994 through 1997.

Before Fame

He attended the California Institute of Technology in 1961.

Trivia

He helped design a telescope which is now in the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum collection.

Family Life

He grew up in Oklahoma, and used to work as an engineer.

Associated With

The telescope he worked on was named after astronomer Edwin Hubble.
