His first job in cinema was as assistant director to K. V. Raju & Rajkishore in 1982. 

Trivia

He is better known by his stage name, Navarasanayaka, which means Master of 9 Emotions. 

Family Life

He ran away with a woman named Parimala in 1984 and they were married. They have two sons, Gururaj and Yathiraj.
