Jack Howe

About

Remembered best for his Duke of Edinburgh Prize-winning design of an ATM machine for the Chubb Locks company, Howe is also notable for his work on a Cambridgeshire school known as Impington Village College.

Before Fame

He received his architectural training at London's University of Westminster (which was then known as Regent Street Polytechnic).

Trivia

In the years following World War II, he established his own architectural practice and contributed to the design of the 1958 Brussels World Fair.

Family Life

The son of a butcher, Howe grew up in Enfield, Middlesex, England.

Associated With

In 1937, he succeeded Walter Gropius as the key architect of England's Impington Village College.
