Russian gymnastics coach known for her controversial training methods. In the year 2001, she became the head coach of the Russian national team. She and her pupil, Olympic champion gymnast Margarita Mamun, were featured in the 2017 documentary Over the Limit.

She started learning gymnastics at the young age of 11.

Trivia

She was the first gymnastics coach in history to receive the Olympic Order award. In the year 2023, she proposed an alternative Olympics plan that would include member countries of BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Family Life

She and businessman Alisher Usmanov, who at one time was known as Russia's richest man (with a net worth exceeding $20 billion), tied the knot in the year 1992. However, they divorced 30 years later in 2022. She has a son named Anton.
