International star who played a widow in Zorba the Greek and starred in The Trojan Women and Mohammad, Messenger of God. She amassed over 80 acting credits throughout her long career. She played Hind in the 1976 historical epic The Message.

She planned to abandon the theatre after receiving continuous negative reviews.

Trivia

She was also a singer who became popular in the 1960s. In 2004, she directed a film called Ecuba.

She married Alkis Papas in 1947 and the couple divorced in 1951.
