Before Fame

He studied with many respected pianists, including pupils of Bela Bartok and Alfred Cortot.

Trivia

His teaching career included stints at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music from 1995 until 1999, the University of New South Wales, and the Australian National Academy of Music.

Family Life

He credited being a parent to his deep interest in children's music, composing Lucy's Book from 1993 until 2006 and Children's Concerto from 1999.

He completed a few of Franz Schubert's unfinished piano pieces for an album titled Unfinished from 1997.
