Hristo Smirnenski

Prolific Bulgarian poet and author whose works include "Izbrani Tvorbi" and thousands of other poems. He wrote under at least seventy pseudonyms during his eight-year literary career.

Before Fame

His first publication was a 1915 piece in his university's satirical newspaper.

Trivia

As a child, he wrote animal-themed short stories and songs.

Family Life

He enjoyed a happy childhood in the Ottoman Empire; sadly, however, he died at age twenty-five from tuberculosis.

Associated With

He, like Blaga Dimitrova, was a twentieth-century Bulgarian poet.
