Before Fame

He graduated from Keio University in Tokyo with a degree in social science.

Trivia

In 2001, he began playing the video game Ico. This made him consider a career as a game designer.

Family Life

His parents would not allow him to play video games as a child.

He is one of many famous game designers, including Shigeru Miyamoto. He and George RR Martin both contributed to Elden Ring.
