Hakan Altun

About

Turkish singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist who is known for his hit albums "Ask Lutfen Gel" in 2015 and "Senden Sonrasi" in 2012. He is also known for playing the Oud, Cumbush, and guitar. 

Before Fame

Upon finishing elementary school, he attended the Academy of Music where he completed his secondary, high, and university education. After leaving his post-graduate program, he worked as an instrumentalist for the Edirne State Choir where he played the Oud. He released his first album "Hakan" in 1999. 

Trivia

He recorded and composed his first song "Hani Bekleyecektin" while he was in the army, motivated by his girlfriends refusal to speak with him on the phone. 

Family Life

He was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey and was introduced to music by his grandfather Hafiz Zeki Altun.

He performed alongside Cengiz Kurtoglu and Edis at the Turkcell Yildizli Geceler festival.
