She graduated with her degree in English literature from St. Anne's College at Oxford University.

She had her fourth book Life Moves Pretty Fast: The Lessons We Learned from Eighties Movies published in 2015. She interviewed Burt Reynolds for The Guardian that same year following the release his of his autobiography But Enough About Me.

While born in New York City, she moved to London with her family at age 11. She is Jewish.
