Guy Severin

About

Russian scientist who built many of the safety systems found in today's spacesuits and spacecrafts. He is a full member of the International Academy of Astronautics and has written numerous papers about life rescue systems.

Before Fame

He graduated the selective Moscow Aviation Institute in 1949.

Trivia

Back when launching and landing ships in space was a hazardous business, he designed many emergency escape mechanisms.

Family Life

He had two children with his wife.

Yuri Gagarin could have gone into space without Guy's help - but he would have been a lot less safe doing so.
