George Seldes

Award-winning investigative journalist known for his work with the Pittsburgh Post, the United Press, and particularly the Chicago Tribune. He also published a politically-themed newsletter called In Fact.

Before Fame

He and his younger brother and fellow writer, Gilbert Seldes, grew up in Alliance Colony, New Jersey.

Trivia

While working for the Chicago Tribune, he secured a 1922 interview with Russian Communist leader Vladimir Putin.

Family Life

He married Helen Wiesman in 1932. He outlived his wife by two decades, passing away in 1995 at the age of 104.
