Before Fame

The captain and coach of the Bears, George Halas, initially had his doubts about Musso, but eventually gave him a tryout, offering him $90 a game if he made it.

Trivia

He received an All-Pro selection at offensive tackle, and was selected again after switching to offensive guard, making him the first to be selected at two different positions.

Family Life

He grew up in Collinsville, Illinois, the son of a coal miner.

Associated With

He was teammates with another Hall of Famer and a football legend, Red Grange, in his first two years with the Bears.
