English singer, composer, and musician who produced commercial electronic music, including the hits "Cars" and "Are 'Friends' Electric?" In 2021, he released his 20th solo studio album, titled Intruder. 

Before Fame

He worked as a lift truck driver, air conditioning ventilator fitter, and clerk in an accounts department as a teenager as well as joining the Air Training Corps. 

Trivia

He formed the British punk rock band Tubeway Army with his uncle, Jess Lidyard, and Paul Gardiner. He released two albums with the band, in 1978 and 1979. 

Family Life

He married Gemma O'Neil, a longtime fan of his; the couple and their three children reside in East Sussex.
