Gamini Fonseka

Film actor and politician who was known for his role as Willie Abeynayake in the 1970 film, Nidhanaya. He received additional recognition for his portrayal of ASP Wicrema Randeniya in Welikathara.

Before Fame

He started out wanting to be a cameraman while working as a second Assistant Director for the 1956 films, Bridge on the River Kwai and Rekava.

Trivia

In 1989, he was elected to Parliament as a representative of the Matara District.

Family Life

He married Dorothy Margaret Valencia in 1962. They had four children together.
